On June 14-15, 2018, the National Practical Conference "Commodity Technology, Expertise: Innovative Solutions and Development Prospects" was held at the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K.I. Skryabin, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Commodity Research and Expertise raw materials of animal origin. Throughout these years, the faculty is alma mater for the country's fur industry specialists.

The conference discussed reports related to the history and development of the faculty, as well as the profession of the commodity scientist on raw materials of animal origin and the prospects for the development of commodity science as an interdisciplinary science.
Senior Manager of the RFU Maksim Chipurnoy delivered a welcoming speech and congratulations to the faculty, as well as a report on the state of the development prospects of the fur industry in Russia, the report touched upon the issues of sustainability of the fur industry, humane trapping and high standards of animal welfare fur farms.
Within the framework of the conference, an exposition was organized in the library of the Academy, in which a lot of unique materials related to the history and life of the faculty, rare books and furs samples were collected.
