On November 15, 2018, an international workshop on the use of modern technologies in the field of design and sewing of fur products was held in Istanbul, organized by the Russian Fur Union in cooperation with the Turkish Fur Industrialists and Businessmen Association (KSIAD) with the support of the International Fur Federation.
Over 100 people took part in the Workshop. Among them were students, designers, representatives of companies engaged in the tailoring of fur garments, teachers of specialized educational institutions.
The master class was conducted by Russian and foreign designers who have many years of experience in the field of sewing fur products, as well as representatives of the international fur auctions: SAGA, Kopenhagen Fur and NAFA.
Margarita Zaikovskaya, designer of Ekaterina Furs company (Moscow) gave a presentation on the specifics of creating a fur garment.
Marketing Director of the North American Fur Auction Oksana Moroz made a presentation on “Natural fur - a responsible choice, fashionable and eco-friendly resource for designers and consumers”. She told about the fur fashion trends of the season 2018-2019.
Designer Sergey Efremov told about fur in trends of modern fashion, about the history of the Fashion House Efremov, the use of natural fur in his collections and technologies of working with fur.
Dmitry Larionov, business manager for Eastern Europe at the Finnish fur auction SAGA FURS, told about the work of the SAGA design studio, about the responsible choice of designers, and also showed samples of modern techniques of sewing fur products.
Furrier and designer of the creative studio Kopenhagen Fur Malin Lindquist and sales manager of the auction Kopenhagen Fur Victoria Pustynnikova told about the fur fashion trends of 18/19.
The head of Accessory Fur company, Viktor Konstantinopolsky, spoke about the unique technology of metallization of fur skins as a new texture in the fur world.
During the workshop all participants were able to personally get acquainted with the presented samples of modern fur techniques, as well as get answers to their questions from the speakers.
Participants noted the high level of workshop organization and the importance of holding similar events in the future.
As part of the masterclass a sightseeing tour of Istanbul was organized for members of foreign delegations.
